WHAT TO EXPECT
When you arrive at the church you will be welcomed and given an order of service.
During the service we offer various forms of prayer: adoration, confession and a special prayer for the week, as well as prayers for the needs of God’s world and his people. We hear readings from the Bible and sermon of 5 minutes will be preached. Half way through the service we are invited to share the Peace with each other. Generally, people shake hands or hug one another and say “Peace be with you” and it symbolises our acceptance of each other just as we are.
A collection is taken for the work of the church and the Minister then leads the long prayer of thanksgiving for the life and sacrifice of Jesus during which s/he blesses the bread and wine which is then shared out among everyone who is baptised. Please come up to the rail at the front of church, and if you do not want to have the bread and wine please bow your head for a blessing.
The whole service lasts about 30 minutes.
Minister: Rev Lydia Cook
