Since 2009 the Deanery of the Blackmore Vale has been linked to Lui in South Sudan. The Deanery supports the people of Lui through prayer, visits, training and fundraising. For information on our association and the latest news, please click here.

Shillingstone Church Centre signSHILLINGSTONE CHURCH CENTRE

The Shillingstone Church Centre was bought by Holy Rood church to enable its mission and community outreach. The Centre is used by the church: the Post Office is available Tuesday and Thursday 1.30pm – 3.30pm and the Centre is also available to hire.

There are 19 parishes in the Blackmore Vale most of which cover small rural communities. We recognise there is greater strength in working together and so have committed ourselves to a Pilgrim Covenant.

Founded in 1921 the Friary is home to the Franciscan Brothers of the Society of St Francis and other men and women who make up the Hilfield Friary Community. It is a place of welcome, peace, sustainability and reconciliation.
