We offer a wide range of children’s activities across our parishes and willing volunteers are always very welcome!


Messy church

Messy Church meets every Wednesday in term time at the Child Okeford Community Centre 9 – 11.30am. We have lots of toys, provide several imaginative and Bible based craft activities and have a short time of informal worship. We provide a snack meal for the children and lots of coffee for the grown-ups.

Trailblazers Plus meets on the third Sunday of every month from 10am to 11am. Meet at Okeford Fitzpaine Village Hall and pick up from St Andrew’s church.

The club is for anyone aged 3 – 16 and is completely free!

Each session includes games, Bible story and then a bit of worship time in church followed by hot chocolate and more games. Parents are very welcome to attend the Family Praise service in church while the children enjoy the club.

This is a club for children aged 5 – 13 and runs every Friday in term time at Okeford Fitzpaine School

Ages 5 – 8 4.45 – 6pm

Ages 9 – 13 5.45 – 7pm

A hot meal is served at 5.45 and for each group there are age appropriate games, quizzes, craft and a Bible story. There is a £1 per session fee.

Youth group

This club is for young people in years 6 – 10 (aged 10 – 14) and meets every last Thursday of the month 7 – 8.30pm at the Shillingstone Church Centre.

Activities include: table tennis, air hockey, games, crafts, cooking, chatting, and having a good time. There is no cost for a regular session (we may ask for a contribution for special activities). A tuck shop is available for those wishing to buy extra snacks. (Soft drinks and biscuits/brownies included in the subs.)

This club runs once a month during during term time on a Wednesday in Shillingstone Church Centre.

Children aged 7 – 11 are welcome and have a fun time doing activities, crafts and games linked to Bible stories and themes. The club is a great opportunity for children to develop friendships, explore the Bible and learn more about Jesus.

The Benefice has three VA Church of England primary schools, a school for profoundly autistic children and an independent prep school for girls. There are close links between the churches and all the schools.
